@izaya I've only seen simracing games allow that (for triple-screen setups), it's a shame

@tedu I bought a couple CDs around 2019, only ripped them in 2021 when I finally got my hands on a CD/DVD reader as if it were some ancient relic of a fallen civilization.

@izaya I got a 5GHz-band wifi card just for my iPhone, pretty much all of the other wireless devices I have (which mostly are ESP32s and RPis 2 with shitty dongles) use 802.11nStill not sure if it was a worthy investment but at least I can say I'm not 10 years behind on network standards

@izaya I managed to make OSPF work on wireguard a while back, DHCP should be good if the implementation isn't angry at broadcast packets

@izaya Are you parsing the leases file on the DHCP server?

@izaya If you need ideas for a sunday project I gave up on regular alarm clocks and setup a RPi with speakers, it has music from my NAS mounted with sshfs and a few scripts that run with cron.I can get woken up by loud hardcore techno now.

@wolf480pl @marek You mean router links on the dynamic routing paths? BFD is pretty good for that, or at least to lower the convergence time compared to something like BGP or OSPF. It should be somewhat configurable but these kind of networks are somewhat expected to be stable, and interfaces to usually be either on or off

@izaya @yassie_j I've got one for a USB-C disk bay I've plugged in a motherboard that has a USB-C port on it.That's probably the only kind of scenarios where C to C could be useful, and even then, peripherals that only have USB-C are not very common (I got that disk bay second-hand, maybe thanks to someone who ordered the wrong model because I think there's one with a USB-A 3.0 port).

@ayo IP addresses assignment and "storage" is pretty much why I decided to host a netbox server in my homelab some time ago, it's probably overkill but at least I don't have to care about choosing and hardcoding addresses anymore

@izaya Automatic gearboxes are somewhat new in france, they were pretty much inexistant 10 years ago, they're now very common and it seems a lot of people are very happy with that.If I were to drive cars I'd much rather drive a manual but I can understand why people prefer them over manual if they consider (and most do) cars to be purely utilitarian tools to get from one point in space to another with the least amount of hassle.
