@ale try yarn. it uses parallelization when installing deps and you don't need to tell yarn to "--save" deps you add to your project.

@climagic Not working for me in bash. ☹️ Though in zsh's line editor ZLE I can achieve the same when simply pressing Tab:$ ls *<Tab>$ ls foo bar baz qux

@lynnesbian Once upon a time, I turned a Kubuntu into Ubuntu with :gnome: and nearly tried to rid the system of "kworker" until I noticed, that the Linux kernel prefixed things with k, too...

@Wolf480pl @climagic Most of the mkfs.* commands have a flag for partition labels/names, so you can label stuff when creating the FS. Unfortunately though, the flag is not named the same for all FS (e.g. for fat it's -n, for ext2/3/4 it's -L)

@lynnesbian :archlinux: follows KISS principle: keep it simple, stupid. doesn't work as great on :debian: though. something I tend to trip over regularly if I have to do things on :debian:.example: changing keyboard layout on tty:archlinux:: loadkeys <layout>:debian::dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration# go through 4-5 menus# restart some keyboard daemon you didn't know of one internet search ago

@sir Maybe two or more years ago, most of these dependencies were listed as `makedepends`. Somewhen someone decided, it'd be a good idea to put them into `depends`, so pandoc grew thank to its Haskell dependencies to approx. 750 MB to install back then.AUR has the package pandoc-bin since then, which is just repackaging Debian's pandoc package.
