Is it time for a #reintroduction #introduction? - I'm a writer, ex-journalist, now at a branding agency. - I'm bi. My family doesn't know this. - I talk about gender stuff, mental health, films/tv, linguistics.- I speak ok French but I understand it well. Also: Malayalam, Hindi, Arabic.- I grew up in the Middle East, studied/worked in India, live in Toronto now. All these places are home but also not home.- I like meeting/talking to people virtually! Say hi!- I also like bullet points.

I don't like the defense for films/books older than a decade that it has problematic themes because "that's how things were at that time."To me, art has to be radical and defiant of its time. Anything that builds on stereotypes or advances harmful beliefs is not art: it's propaganda, plain and simple. You cannot excuse problematic art as a product of its time and social environment. That's a job done badly on part of its creator.

ever have days when you just cannot comprehend how to do work-related tasks that require you to think and independently apply learned skills? when all you can do is just scroll-read things and not use any brainpower because it just feels tiringthis is scary

I'm looking for a viable second career; maybe something I've never done before, unrelated to journalism/media/advertising. There's like no spark left in where i am career-wise now. I *could* get another advertising/writing job and move up ladders and stuff but I have 0 intention or interest. So very disillusioned with writing for money.

I can't be the only one who appreciates sunrise and sunsets in a game?(in real life too) But I mean, to recreate nature's most mundane but beautiful routines inside a game has to be art. In most open-world/free-roam games I (my character?) seek places to stand and watch a sunrise. Love a game that pays attention to it, even if for a brief minute.

@InvaderXan I love that you've taken a more visual route to planning arcs. I tend to just jot down things in words and draw bubbles around them, connected by lines, but it has become a bit tedious to get that bird's eye perspective. I might try to do something like this, this weekend! (also I can't wait to see how your story turns out! I love seeing people's creation processes)

Good folks out there, I seek to talk with anyone who works in a library of any kind!I'm trying to understand what it's like as a work environment, get real-life examples of what sort of stresses and responsibilities it entails (won't ask for personal details/pay/location etc). DM and replies open. Thank you!

@InvaderXan Have you tried those horror-story podcasts? I've been meaning to try them and somehow I feel like audio horror has more potential to horrify than...me reading and fussing over how it looks in my head.

in feb, i deleted all social media apps for 3 weeks. i gradually got back to everything, but now it's harder to fall asleep, i'm less focused, no motivation. thought it was just a bad week, but that bad week has become a month.i want to go away again, but also don't want to stop being online (fomo). i hate that my choices seem to be to either cut it out completely or let it go on this way. can't find that balance (or discipline) to limit my time and split my focus. howwwww.
