@futurebird To be clear, Tesla has been putting things behind subscriptions for years and years. Even simple stuff like heated seats apparently is part of the subscription models.Which really begs the question of if their cars could straight up just decide you don't have a thing you do in the middle of driving and cause things to shift in a way that could cause an accident anyway.(No one should use Tesla's self-driving regardless. It's a hacky mess and is not safe.)

@Nonilex To be clear, *ALL* the deaths in the concentration camps are homicide. Just most are "negligent homicide" as in they intentionally put them in situations to cause them to be harmed hoping for deaths.But this is a point where even this regime can't make excuses anymore. @Nonilex Look into his past.I read about that incident where he actually did need stitches (the one Trump mixed up in his addled remnant of what we are required to call a "brain.") The nutcase smashed someone's window and grabbed inside. When they naturally tried to leave because someone was smashing into the rear of their vehicle trying to break in to attack them, HE HELD ON. A sane person would let go, but he held on, letting the vehicle pull him so he could finally taze the driver...

@futurebird It truly is nothing short of amazing isn't it? Horrible things happen to them because of the nature of the platform, so what do they do? Just move to another of the same blasted thing. @futurebird All I can say is when I try to I get either ignored or fussed at. I tried to get a few people who really shouldn't have stayed on X as long as they did and just got such a cold shoulder. They never came to Mastodon. I assume they're on Bluesky, but no longer have contact with them to really tell (my main contact with a lot of people was Discord, but I gave it up while there was still a chance that "delete my account" actually meant delete it and not just disable it but keep data.)

@futurebird I don't think that's a fair analogy unless we reach the point that it costs you something to actually get air and water (beyond the relatively small amounts one spends on water right now) and they start injecting bad stuff into each.Really I'm not sure there is a good analogy. This is sort of a thing that is kind of almost specific to tech. (I mean there are other things that can be similar-ish, but usually with a lot more complexity involved.)
