@thor I keep approaching WebDAV the same way — "oh maybe WebDAV be a good solution here, and it's even supported natively by macOS and Windows" →"uh… nope… no… nope…"

@thor Exactly, even if client support is decent I like to run most of my services through nginx and my research there is not encouraging. Interesting thought to try contribute patches though!

@niclas @arturo182 I'm trying to figure that out too — are these meant simply to be inset through a big square cutout for the whole package? if just a circular hole for the plunger part (pushing the switch body *away* from the board) then that does seem mechanically sus?

@piggo the magic words iirc are "conformal coating" but (a) not exactly "waterproof" but should help some against humidity/corrosion and (b) not sure if it counts as "easily available" if you're needing something e.g. you could pick up locally

@piggo wait, is *this* off a Brother laser?! old internet lore said it wouldn't work well with those and so I never even bothered trying — that looks nice 🤩

@piggo ok, yeah that's basically the rationale I found online but seems like it's not a total showstopper, best of luck!

@aeva endorse!one of my best-managed clients literally "just" maintains two copies of the TODO lists — issue tracker for the devs, checklists in some wysiwyg webapp for the stakeholders. I suspect it must be a lot of work for the PM to constantly translate/sync everything between the two. But what **valuable** work, for me as a dev, for our upstream client, and I suspect for him to keep tabs on it all as well!

@aeva /me realizes he has never hugged his very non-BS PMand that's probably just fine by him 😆 but I've certainly been taking his work less and less for granted the more of it I end up only *attempting* to emulate elsewhere. I think it must help him stay engaged and empowered to keep the deliverables on track too!

@aeva and the beautiful irony of "agile" is that "We value individuals and interactions" of course got immediately turned into something that could be forced over a team as processes and tools.https://agilemanifesto.org/

@futurebird one person providing helpful info when Covid was more people's concern literally named her blog/site "You Can Know Things" and I love that framing (even if *perhaps* a bit philosophically oversimplified but it's a _medical_ blog so… 😆) just a really neat overarching title for the work she's doing 👍

@cammerman @futurebird yeah that's part of it, and same with the clock — not sure how you have a processor without one. so three interrelated low-level options and one really high-level one.maybe I'm biased still working through the @mwichary box set, but afaict colloquially in our house a computer is one with a hardware [alphanumeric] keyboard? (vs "phone" or handheld game/synthesizer/"Alexa"/etc.)

@cammerman @futurebird like the kids were fighting and got temporarily banished "everyone off the computers" — but one honestly didn't think twice continuing to use his already-programmed micro:bit as a little gameboy thing (and I opted not to call him on it and get in this very debate with him as to what counts as "a computer" 😆 — his device certainly had a clocked processor with integrated RAM, connected to an interface intended for human usage. but they use "a computer" to program **that**…)
