@attacus sometimes I feel like I’m the last person that still gets their news from #rss.

@otyugh @hollie @attacus I'v suggested it to people all the time. They just say "Oh sounds cool." I honestly don't even know how people can deal with the onslaught of news without RSS.

@otyugh @hollie @attacus Inoreader usually. That is because I read it on my Kindle through reabble.com

@otyugh It doesn't work that well. You basically use the Kindle experimental browser to go the site. There was one a while ago that used to deliver content automatically, which shut down.

@simon You have higher faith in the self awareness of OpenAI than I do.

@TedUnderwood Join the cult of “digital media researcher.” It covers this and is what I say.

@menyalas That sounds great! Let me know if there is a place to read it at. As for #digitalhumanities in general, I don't think there is much interest. There is some Lasso and Ridge regression stuff that could be seen through a Bayesian lens but other than that, I haven't seen much work.

@electricarchaeo @TedUnderwood @benmschmidt @simon Awesome stuff! How does the output of this compare to something like GPT4?

@simon This is very cool. I wonder how art historians may use something like this.

Change my mind: #digitalhumanities has now basically reverted back to humanities computing and most research moving forward will require significant training in quantitative methods, such as statistics and linear algebra.

@mkirschenbaum I had wondered why I had not seen Against Theory seriously come up in discussions of LLM. I mentioned it to numerous people when they asked me what I thought. Looking forward to reading this.

@mkirschenbaum Yes. It isn’t banned in another region though. I was traveling to the northern areas where it apparently was.
