@SuricrasiaOnline I think it is a tad more complex than just gross power consumption

@SuricrasiaOnline I totally get what you mean.We "could" construct systems that don't require money. Should we ? Don't you think money is an essential human construct ?

@SuricrasiaOnline I think today's money fails globally as a unit of account : govs print money out of thin air since decades in order to sustain our "need" for economic growth (keeps social cohesion). Since 2008 this fake money has been used to save the banks (too big to fail). As a result, most of the money printed by govs never goes into the real world economy but into financial bubbles that enrich the already riches...

@SuricrasiaOnline I have the chance to live in a country that provides universal healthcare, so I couldn't agree more. But we should recognize that when something is free (ie when we forget that things have value), we tend to abuse it. For example, France is by far the biggest consumer of medicinal drugs in the world, and french people don't have a better health or lifespan than others.

@SuricrasiaOnline In some countries (Venezuela, Argentina, Zimbabwe...), money fails also as a store of value, because of hyperinflation.

@SuricrasiaOnline ATP is the medium by which cells exchange value (energy). I can't think of a system that does not process, stock, receive or send value to others systems, be it a living organism, a planet, a star, or a social construct. There is no such thing as a closed system, there will always be interactions to consider.
