Our team is new to mastodon & we wanted to say hi to everyone :) We are working on an exciting project which implements the Signal protocol over a blockchain (decentralizing it) and also does not require phone numbers. @iooioio The Hush Project is implementing the #Signal Protocol over a decentralized #blockchain, so no phone numbers and no centralized server. Matrix has the same advantage of being decentralized (federated like Mastodon) but also does not require phone numbers. #HushChat has E2EE by using z-addresses (z-addr) and E2EE is not on by default with Matrix, as it is with Signal.#Hush is also a #cryptocurrency :)I'll also ask our Lead Dev & see if he has more to add too.

@matt @Pete I would also add that #Zcash had potential, but they instead encourage their userbase to not use the #privacy tech baked in and instead decide to work with law enforcement and #chainanalysis companies to profit off of the lack of privacy.#Hush, however, has mandatory privacy enforced and we also our #HushChat secure messenger currently in #beta. @matt @metal3d @tim only 6% of the #Zcash userbase even use Shielded (or private) addresses, so it really should be renamed to #Tcash.Let's not also forget that they actively work with #LawEnforcement and #ChainAnalysis companies, unless you're into that type of stuff.
