@2legged @Remittancegirl You forgot some important context: Palestine Action is not some random action in Palestine, but a specific political group that attacked british military planes and was banned as a terrorist group, well, because they attacked british military planes for political reasons. So this is a publicity stunt by supporters of that group

@tyil @Remittancegirl @2legged It totally is a muddy field. Let's take an example not from the current middle east conflict: In 1985 german terror organisation RAF (who had no problems attacking civilians and politicians during other attacks) murdered a US soldier and used his ID to sneak a car bomb onto a US airbase, killing 2. It makes totally sense to see this as a terror attack, but the definition that civilians have to be targetted makes that difficulthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhein-Main_Air_Base_bombing

@tyil @Remittancegirl @2legged But I also do know that autocratic regimes are trying to label every opposition group as a terror group. And that there are violent uprisings that are labeled as terror by the gov and that it totally depends on your perspektive how you label e.g. the iraqi resistance.(but what I want to say: You really shouldn't complain if your group gets banned after you attack military bases in a time of political crisis for political reasons. That will happen everywhere)

@tyil @Remittancegirl @2legged We are talking about a specific group with few members who did this attack on the airfield in the name of the group and not some bigger and undefined group like "all muslims".

@futurebird And even if people are starting to learn, starting to understand, that won't help. Even if the propaganda works only for a few years and people learned that vaccination is helpful the hard way, there are new people growing up, coming into contact with the propaganda and the circle starts again.

@ricci What's wrong with using a newer technology to handle an older technology that is still here?

@futurebird Yeah - and home improvement is so expensive and a lot of work and hassle, so there is really no reason to rip out your kitchen because it has the wrong color. If it works, just keep it

@futurebird One thing that really helped me was using UBlock Origin. UBO is not only for blocking ads, you can also use it to block that annoying comment section of your local newspaper

@futurebird You can also do your own blocking - if there is this one troll in that comment section, you can filter out all of his/her comments. It's quite awesome

@aral @Dadmin People are planning their oversees vacations at the end of the year because they have to submit their vacation days by the end of December. It feels crazy, but Trump hasn't even been in office for a year, and many of the 2025 vacations were planned and booked before he took office. Often, flights can no longer be canceled. People then take the vacations they booked, and the real crash will come in 2026.
