       @sim honestly the communist manifesto isn't very well written IMO.Conquest of Bread (specifically the first few chapters) was what really convinced me that communism is both necessary, and the only sensible way to run society.

If you mean to criticize how those revolutions frequently turn into power grabs, you would be firmly in league with many communists.  Kropotkin himself refused to participate in the Bolshevik government and was highly critical of it almost from the very start.

       There are three kinds of math professors:1) early career. Always super active!!! Also always on the verge of a nervous breakdown.2) old fart who has amassed significant wealth and power. Probably a chair or something. Publishes lots of big papers in big journals. Usually mean.3) old fart who is barely aware that there is a university outside the math department.        @MercurialBlack there's the Twitter Leftist part of the fediverse, which IME is by far the biggest and most tightly connected, and they tend to defederate rapidly with anyone federating with those instances you list.I can't say I blame them, a large portion of FSE users I've met were assholes.If you want The Whole Fedi Experience you can make multiple accounts at different sites.

       @MercurialBlack I do recommend this instance, it seems to be a bit of a crossroads.Personally I was a lot more comfortable at a small out-of-the-way instance, and I might go back to one. Also I dislike mastodon's user interface.
