@atomicpoet Also - the larger the #instance, the greater the risk that, for example, due to poor #moderation, we will unwittingly become victims of defederation by other instances. Let's be as close to our admin as possible - preferably be your own admin of your instance.

#cloudflare, the internet #privacy killer, has released the code for its #fediverse server compatible with mastodon: #wildebeest: https://github.com/cloudflare/wildebeest. The requirements for the server dispel any doubts as to why this software was created: "We are OF COURSE assuming that you have a Cloudflare account and have at least one zone using Cloudflare". Are you also thinking what I am thinking ? That if we get caught up in this, in a few years we may find that fediverse = cloudflare. #stopcloudflare

@niebezpiecznik Nie wiem czego psychofanami jesteście Wy ale wybór #substack 'a wskazuje ,że na pewno nie prywatności i decentralizacji internetu. Wszystkie wymienione dla mail'a "nie ma" można załatwić wyborem odpowiedniego (dla newslettera) projektu fedi. Przez #rss też każdy (kto nie lubi fedi) sobie może subskrybować. Dając email do newslettera to jak dawac komuś klucze od mieszkania licząc na to że gość będzie odwiedzać nas tylko zgodnie z umową i nikomu nie skopiuje klucza. Nie polecam...

@niebezpiecznik Gdzie nie ma ? Na twoim serwerze i na projekcie którego używa... Na innych są. Dlatego jest nierozsądnie wygłaszać tu różne generalne tezy bez sprawdzenia bo można wyjść na ignoranta. Każdy może wybrać czy chce mieć quote tuty, jaki limit znaków, profil publikacji i setki innych rzeczy.

I np założyli, że jakiś algorytm będzie im generować zasięg a oni tylko wrzucać posty nikogo sami nie obserwując i nie generując naturalnego zainteresowania swoim profilem treścią postów i w ogóle informacją (np na swojej stronie, na korpo-mediach) że taki profil tutaj istnieje ?

@rysiek @Fairphone If FOSS OS for desktops can run (the same version, without any modifications!) both on the latest models and on a hardware made ~17 years ago (my personal use case) , it means that for OS for phones such a lifecycle should be all the more possible. Only there is one condition - this is only possible for FOSS. Phone manufacturers should be forced by law to open source all drivers when they end official product support

@stux "We would never ever sell out on you" - we won't sell you out but give you out away for free - in the form of, for example, all the fediverse content - the posts of millions of people, which Meta will get for FREE and will certainly help them to better profile (= get more profit) those who don't have accounts on their platform.
