       @daniel I've read a few communications (including official) in the past months and I thought "S2S", but there is not really strong definitions about this... The closest is that they state "interoperability with third-party *providers*" (so service providers? aka other chat networks?). A Q&A (https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/QANDA_20_2349) states however that such "providers" can request interoperability and they must provide access. Hope some big servers operators will open the path :)

       @jpfox Pas de vraie solution, mais généralement c'est #Siskin et #Monal qui sont recommandés... Siskin annonce faire de l'AV (sans spécifiquement mentionner la compat avec Conversations, mais sert de base iOS pour le projet #Snikket), mais pour l'un et l'autre, je crois que le soucis est souvent que l'app est fermée/hibernée par l'OS et ça bloque l'appel

       @daniel While I felt the loss of google contacts, I still think #XMPP was left stronger from the cooperation (and exposure as a real-world capable protocol) and Google went on to being crushed by new social network messaging systems...Also yes, I hope the fediverse community is not weak enough to be ripped apart by a "major" operator -- and just refusing to connect with a party because they could disconnect at some point is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy...

       @pixelfed If you plan on doing a chat system, fine, but please consider making it federated through #xmpp (#IETF standard: https://xmpp.org/rfcs/) even if it's just a compatibility interface.
