@futurebird be careful with that stuff.I had similar innocent thoughts, and started carrying a umbrella (the cane kind, not foldable) during bad weather times.Then it happened.I got addicted to carrying it and using it as a walking cane.Can't go on a walk without it now, which - i can tell you - earns you a *lot* of weird looks in the summer.(I'm almost sure it's a way of stimming, also i don't mind the looks, love walking with it, so, very benevolent addiction :) )

@futurebird this is a sad topic. We had a Japanese restaurant open in out city, and they had incredible Gua Bao (?) But stopped selling them, because their bun source dried up :(

@futurebird Hi, i need an opinion from the resident Ant-thropologist (sorry.. :D)I found this anthill in my mothers garden/flowerbed, and just managed to keep her from trying to kill it.She is of the opinion that those are pests and need to be convinced to go away, with prejudice. True to your name, it would be awesome if you have some propaganda, ehm, i mean information i can use to convince her that ants are awesome and useful?

@futurebird IF reasonable people were in control of stuff like that, i think it wouldn't even be a bad place. (With My very limited geography knowledge) i think there is very good solar and wind power possibilities, right?So you could actually do a good green datacenter. IF you were inclined to invest the money and development to make it green.

@futurebird this really made me think a bit, because most of our furniture just "is" :)My family has been living in this house for over a hundred years, different generations buy some stuff new, and it just stays as long as its usable.My desks for example were bought new, but by my parents, so i didnt buy them, but they were bought new.The only thing i really bought (futniture) was our glorious sofa, and beds. Our livingroom table is from the late 70s i think.
