@mmu_man @lynnesbian had no idea that such a thing could happen. Note for the future: aggressively free disk space before any Windows update; keep updates paused as much as possible.

@gunnerSuch a great question set! Let me see...Biggest hobbies: mapmaking and webcomicsNostalgia trigger: modernist, specially socialist art, music, architecture, etc. What I wanted to be: some sort of scientist, to predict people's behavioursWhat I became: some other sort is scientist, studying politics (which is not really different)

I know you will appreciate this: our farmers' market, almost half a kilometre of the most absurdly cheap and diverse produce, in the middle of a dense working class neighbourhood, here twice a week for decades, unfazed by the presence of a nearby chain supermarket, as lively as always.

@djsumdog @SirHendrick save from some freakinglishy rich people, most of us tend to abandon regressive beliefs once beginning to live on better material conditions, and with social stability. It has happened with lots of peoples before, but it won't happen unless Muslim migrants find safety.

A really interesting article about how deference to people from marginalised communities can backfire and reinforce elites:"Elites from marginalized groups can benefit from this arrangement in ways that are compatible with social progress. But treating group elites’ interests as necessarily or even presumptively aligned with full group interests involves a political naiveté we cannot afford."https://www.thephilosopher1923.org/essay-taiwo

I got the Oxford (AstraZeneca) vaccine last week, and the first day after was terrible, but just one day. Also, I got to be one of the first people here in Chile to recieve it, so there is no one to ask about the effects of the second dose.Has somebody here got the second Oxford jab, that can share some impressions? Also, how many days your vaccination programme is delaying the second dose? Here is 4 weeks but i read that the WHO recommends 8.:boost_requested:
