@raina2q20 Lie back and think of what England used to be...?Even circa 2005 would do at this point, and that was the tail end of the Blair years. 1986 or there abouts would be better.

Achtung! Japan isn't quite the based-and-redpilled haven it might appear. Pretty much everyone is still muzzled like the calendar is permanently stuck on March 2020. (Or in their case, 2002, when the first SARS virus hit.) It's the same story for pretty much any first-world Far Eastern country... and China, obviously. The only "haven" these days is likely to be a tiny Pacific island.

Goddammit. Why do these loons always, *always* have to put "autistic" in there? I want nothing to do with them. And yet, Our Side™ will forever make that association. Grunt, gnash, froth, etc.

Strange that you should mention roller skating as a harmless activity now, just as I'm in the midst of "outing" myself as a keen skater. The difference here is, I never skated as a kid. The mere thought of being around any other kids was bad enough, but attempting to do something that would see me put through the worst sort of public humiliation with my terrible level of coordination - even worse than just playing football, badly - was enough to make me stay inside with no human contact until I was about 15.But that was then, this is now. And after only taking up skating for the first time at 22, it took another 22 years to start taking it seriously. Spending north of £250 on new skates to replace my old broken eBay-special Raptors is one motivation (the Yorkshireman in me wants my money's worth), but having a nearly-five-year-old nephew who can ride a bike and is well known to like things with wheels will drive me onwards even harder. I want to be the one who shows him that skating is fun, and can teach him not just the basics (and get rid of that awful zimmer frame on wheels in ten minutes), but how to (eventually) fling himself around at neck-breaking speeds without actually breaking his neck.(continued...)

(carrying on...)I find there are two types of under-tens, who show which side they're on when they fall over. There are the scared-of-everything kids who burst into tears and don't want to do it any more and a parent has to be summoned to do the "uwu" thing you mentioned above, and there are those who will giggle a bit, get up and take off again like a Saturn V rocket that's only temporarily crashed on the surface of Mars with a bit of a graze. Unsurprisingly, I want to point my nephew in the latter direction. Sometimes when he's fallen off his bike he cries and doesn't want to ride it any more, but that doesn't last - he'll get back on eventually, so he's part of the way there. Also, as a bonus, I have gone from being a 220 lb blob who can trundle around and stay upright at a decent speed without thinking about it, to being a 200 lb slightly-less-of-a-blob who can do crossovers, two of the three manuals and a basic transition (if I slow down quite a bit). That last move, for 11 years, was in the "I will never, ever be able to do this as long as I live" category. Not any more. The latest project is to turn that into an emergency stop... which I needed yesterday evening and didn't have in my toolkit. Although I will.Maybe you should give skating another go, eh? At least this time there'll be no crying in terror.

@Meteoryan has been mentioning "They Live" recently, hence I intended to watch it again. This evening, I did.Has anyone, ever, tried to smear this film as some kind of anti-Semitic attack on The Chosen People Of Israel™? They are never once mentioned, but as is the case with the "orcs equals Strong And Empowered Capital-B Black People" narrative with Tolkien, this is exactly the kind of reaction I'd expect from the ADL, the SPLC, or any of the other letter-organisations that have gone crazy in recent years. Or, did it happen at the film's release?Alsø alsø, I maintain that The Fight Scene was far too long and was just inserted as a vehicle to scream "Rowdy Roddy Piper is a WWF wrestler, you know!" from the rooftops. Was Frank also a wrestler?

BONUS #metalmonday - and it is still Monday on, say, the 'MURICAN Diomede Island, right near the International Date Line...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KApie0UjEY8Ryan's post about weird ways to make sound effects reminds me of the way Judas Priest made the sound of the marching Metal Gods. With no library of digital sound effects in 1980, their solution was Rob Halford standing in the middle of the studio, shaking a tray of cutlery. Slightly less impressively (and more obviously), the whip noises were made by a guitar string. Use what you've got...

At least you have hundreds of pairs of glasses to choose from when the time comes to get them replaced. Of all those that aren't strictly women-only, I also have to eliminate those that scream "soyjak" or "child molester".And *infuriatingly*, the "soyjak" style seems to be the bulk of what's available. Is it worth raiding my savings for five and a half grand - maybe more - to get my eyes lasered and solve the problem for, say, ten to fifteen years?

I've been planning on the Bruce Dickinson discography for a while for Metal Monday. I've run out of ideas for that for a while, so I might do it on Mondays regardless of how it's supposed to be done.

Scream for me, Minds!@unblinkingeye has just started #itmusthavebeenyears and I'm going to pair it with #metalmonday to do something I've been threatening to do for the last year or so: present Bruce Dickinson's solo discography. Conveniently he's made five solo albums, and there are five Mondays in January. The first of these is 1990's "Tattooed Millionaire", which Kerrap! reviewed as one of the worst albums of the year. This album is not, emphatically not, an Iron Maiden soundalike - for the most part, it's cock rock of the kind I'd expect from degenerate Los Angeles gutter-trash bands like Mötley Crüe, rather than someone known for having a history degree. But, Bruce being Bruce, even when he tried to write sleazy, lowest-common-denominator lyrics he still managed to be slightly clever with it.I came to the conclusion a year and a half ago that Bruce should be promoted to one of my god-tier heroes because he could write an album that, by all rights, I should hate - and yet I don't, and I can't, objectively not very good though it is. I don't play this album much, I admit - and there are better tracks than "Zulu Lulu" that I've provided here, though they don't really reflect the content of the album (otherwise it'd have been "Gypsy Road", or possibly "Born in '58").Also, if anyone was unaware, this is the album that introduced Janick Gers to Iron Maiden. He'd been unemployed for five years since contributing to Jonathan "crooked-smiled-nonce" King's failed Gogmagog project, and when Adrian Smith announced his departure, Bruce suggested Janick as a ready-made replacement for his favourite songwriting partner. Bruce played a gig with the solo band, then the rest of Iron Maiden joined in with Janick on guitar, and that was announced there and then as the new line-up. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=jJfLGLe1pQA

"REEEEEEEEEEEE! Satanic demonic something or other! REEEEEEEEEEEE!"- the Daily Wire, Benny Johnson, DC Draino, End Wokeness, etc.Circa 2020 I said something along the lines of "if anyone told me ten years ago I'd be agreeing with hardline 'MURICAN capital-C Conservative Christfags on *anything*, I'd have laughed in your face", and yet, I did. But they aren't half trying hard to lose me and everyone like me.

The Tradright will tell you that those two are mutually incompatible. Then again, the Tradright also likes to pretend that either gays don't exist, or can be fixed.I just wanted to be left alone and write programs for 40-odd-year-old computers that nobody other than a small handful of 40-to-60-year-old nerds will ever care about, which is a lot easier because it does not rely on the permanent and enthusiastic presence of someone else. And yet, the Tradright will also say that my way is invalid.

#metalmonday goes a bit... alternative, for want of a better word, for one week and one week only, and here's why. I have never liked Life Of Agony. I never knew what anyone saw in "River Runs Red", and once they'd finished fannying about with "Ugly", the Heavy Metal Goddamn Mainstream Media started drooling all over "Soul Searching Sun" as if it was the best thing since... whatever Marilyn Manson had just made. However, there was one song I liked. Just the one. And it doesn't absolve the rest of their career. But the reason I'm posting it now is because Keith Caputo has decided he doesn't want to pass himself off as a facsimile of a woman any more, and is now speaking out against doing to kids what he did to himself a decade or so ago. And in doing so, he has not just outed himself as a heretic against Cultural Marxism, he is going to send thousands upon thousands upon thousands of newer fans doing the crying soyjak face, because they will no longer be able to smugly "correct" the older fans from the 1990s with their "ER, THAT'S LITERALLY A WOMAN AND SHE IS CALLED MINA" schtick. I've seen it happen and it was annoying. Well, now, the boot is on the other Schumacher.Welcome back to reality, Keith. I still don't care for your band, mind, just this one song. Don't lose sight of that. What I had pencilled in for this week will now come next week. It's from around the same time, and is also from Roadrunner Records. But you'll never guess what it will be.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JG0N_tpmZA

This is a solution I came up with two or three *years* ago, when Europe was just starting to realise that *maybe* we've let in too many "refugees" (read: economic migrants and young men of fighting age) from "Syria" (read: and Afghanistan, Iraq, generally anywhere in the Middle East whether there's a war there or not). There's a country that has a *vast* land area, so it's not as if there isn't enough space to accommodate all the "Syrian" "refugees". This country isn't actively engaged in a war, it always has plenty of opportunities for work, and has an enormous amount of housing, most of which has been empty ever since it was built, so the "refugees" will be safe, sheltered and dutifully employed. And, best of all, it is run under a political ideology that is absolutely in tune with what your average "Refugees Welcome" Woke Baiter Soyboy Cuck preaches (with a heavy lisp) from university campuses all over the "rathitht fathitht Trumpitht MAGA problematic triggering hell-hole" that is the United States.Even the WEF, UN, WHO and all those other unaccountable Globalo-Leftist entities couldn't possibly object either, because they don't see countries or nations, they see economic zones, and people are nothing more than fungible tokens to be shunted around those economic zones with a scant disregard for cultural compatibility. The Soviet Union did much the same with its own people throughout its existence. The country I'm talking about here, though, is the one that has the highest amount of power and influence over these Globalo-Leftist dystopian organisations. That country is CHINA, and the amount of "Syrian" "refugees" they took in is approximately zero. China could accommodate and employ the entire population of the Palestinian territories *and* *everyone* who has ever been a "refugee" from "Syria" and barely even notice the difference. But China doesn't do that, because despite being under the hammer and sickle, the Chinese government is ethno-nationalist and actively rejects anyone from *any* foreign culture, Middle Eastern, Western, African, South American, everyone. And, being a non-white nation and hence immune to accusations of "white thupremathy" from the Woke Baiter Soyboy Cucks and the European governments who *still* have the Bad Austrian Painter living rent-free in their heads, they get away with it scot-free.Obviously, we have to gloss over what would happen to the Palestinians and the Syrians and the Afghans in China, because most likely they'd be treated the same as the Uyghurs. The question is, given the effect we have seen from thousands upon thousands upon thousands of culturally incompatible men of fighting age arriving in Europe undeterred, to the point where even *Germany* is starting to question the narrative that it was always a good and virtuous idea... does anyone care?
