@anderspuck I believe Mark Galeotti talked about the budget earlier this fall in his "Inside Russia" podcast. The percentage made me wonder how the country could sustain the war over the long haul. When you factor in corruption, the whole system will be extracting an enormous amount of value without contributing anything to the society. And how much can they extract from the territories they've ruined?

@Wolven @terrigarland Yeah, it's not great. It's possible, though, that more limited-purpose LLMs can be made useful, e.g., what Cohere seems to be offering. But I can't for the life of me understand why companies wouldn't want to spend their money on more skilled librarians instead, and editors and other language arts types, unless they think these services are going to be significantly cheaper. Anyway, nice to see someone influential talking about the emperor's lack of clothes. #LLMs

When I got my COVID booster, I was surprised to learn that one had to have preexisting health conditions to get it when one is under sixty-five. As a matter of practicality, the pharmacy can't do anything more than ask.
