@Krisss It can always be both! ð Obviously, boosts tend to have more real value since you get introduced to more people, but it is also true that when I see someone's feed taken up mostly all by boosts, it is pretty boring. So, boosts also clog the feed and hide the personality of the booster as boosting becomes the goal rather than the exception.

@EZLorenzImagery Yours is one of many posts that says "Preview not available, click to open"This seems like a new thing that is spreading fast. Did you turn on a setting like that? Or did your server? It means your post gets little attention. Not everyone will click to to open.

@EZLorenzImagery and I've changed nothing. I don't know if my server has, but this is suddenly pervasive. Of the first 9 posts in my home feed--not all of which are from MY server--it has this same message, per the screenshot attached. I don't know who to ask because I'm not sure where the problem is coming from. But it's a big change and not a welcome one.

@EZLorenzImagery As this has developed I don't think it is an individual problem. Something is going on at the server levels. Or, so I think. My server admin will look at this tomorrow and I copied Eugen on some posts too.

@EZLorenzImagery P.s. Hovering the mouse over the image box "preview not available" tends to show the image. So, that's something. I hope this doesn't mean it was a deliberate server choice with someone deciding all previews should disappear.

When I first approached this Greek temple in Agrigento, Sicily awhile back, there was a guy just sitting near it contemplating the horizon. After all, part of this scene is only slightly changed since 440 BCE or so. A perfect #silentsunday #photography #greece #sicily

@BeAware I was not aware that this was so individually performed. I have followed @bsky.brid.gy here previously and NOW added @ap.brid.gy to follow at BS. (I wasn't aware of that latter one) I will see how that changes things once everything updates. ThanksWhat I would eventually like is to just tell everybody at blueSky and Threads to follow my Mastodon, have it integrate perfectly, and then I don't have to keep checking in elsewhere. I suspect that will be a while

This 2017 Aspros Lagos (Douloufakis on Crete) is Vidiano in acacia and oak. Deep and dry, it has good balancing acidity and some touches of maturity, but it is doing great. It should continue to hold for a few more years, perhaps more than anticipated. That tight, tense finish is enticing. It's best with food. About $35, 14.1% #wine #greece #crete

So, now that non-Masto places are "in the Fediverse," I see on BlueSky that this post appears there if you follow my Masto account from there.But it seems like very limited integration. I made a reply there to myself, and that only appears THERE, not here. I don't even get notice of a reply here! Meanwhile,you can follow my Threads account FROM here, but Threads won't allow following Masto from Threads. One-way.On the whole, if there's not better integration that this, who cares? #fediverse
