@phoenix it's oki microblogging isn't the thing for me and I have birdsite + rss for news anyway, not to mention that I sort of dislike how closely-connected the fediverse is to each other which makes me feel unwelcome as I said before, not to bash the fediverse itself because it's the future for sure. @phoenix what did you try so far? I personally don't like Audacious, Clementine and Amarok because they randomly sort my music arbitrarily and the UIs are mostly cluttered or just ugly in some cases. I'm always told an mpd server and client is the way to go but I just cannot be arsed to set that up, every time I see someone try to, 5/6 times they fail repeatedly until it works eventually to some degree. I roll Lollypop and sometimes Babe these days because given that your library is tagged properly, it just loads simply, sorts them by normal values given and looks modern enough for me, but not everyone is a fan of the large album art gallery or the fact that they're GTK and Qt apps respectively.

@quad yea I feel you, it's just Ubuntu and it's spins (especially Pop!_OS) that nails that, and Fedora with it's now default PRIME support.

@quad Sorry to hear that really, I've never come across that happening since using Fedora in 26+ and it mostly happens when building packages which is sort of understandable, but not coprs or rpmfusion / main repo. Other than that systemd hasn't affected me negatively yet so I can't comment, but it's good that you have valid reasons for using a systemd-less distro and not just out of barragement.

@maxmustermann sure, while the 'post' is not available on Facebook, it could mean both ways that it did or didn't exist so that's no good evidence. What you do find if searching around is that it originated on 4chan and was propagated on mostly right-wing subreddits where it eventually reached more popular subreddits and then shared on other websites that embargo free speech. Lastly, there's the obvious lack of artifacting around the text that was superimposed over a template if put under a curve level in GIMP or similar. There's more evidence than not to support this was a faked post from 2 years ago but I'm definitely not saying Vice and similar sites aren't crummy on their ways, as they attempted to block archiving sites for ad revenue purposes. Just making an informed post because I shared it and was met with calling out almost immediately lol

@phoenix isn’t that first point shaky? Forgive me if I’m wrong since I’m not familiar with US law but how would that be differentiated from making a legal copy of the game for personal use? Obviously I’m not saying pirating the game you own gives you immunity from copyright trolls and whatnot lol, but surely that aspect isn’t illegal? The DMCA part I’ve heard before and similarly cracking games so no comment there.

@izaya and on top of all that you just get peace of mind that nothing will conflict with proprietary drivers, kernel mismatching or general debauchery. Swapping my card for an RX 560 was the best thing ever

@calvin @pony this is more of a case like Gajim, which is also GTK3+ but uses a GTK2 frame so it doesn't make use of transitional headerbars or CSD. This app on the other hand looks like an Electron one lol
