At any given time it the past ~16 years, I always managed at least 2 #Linux servers. I just got my hands on a #Windows server to test something yesterday. I had to restart the windows one, more than I ever restarted all my Linux servers in 16 years. Why would someone use such a thing???

796 Packages need to be recompiled on my laptop. A downside of running #Gentoo. But totally worth it.

@lore Depends on your workload, My Ryzen 7950x is quite pricy, but I can't live without it.

@lore I see what you mean. I constantly compile big libraries and I needed a fast cpu to reduce the compile time. I'm pretty happy with my choice, to be honest. Even though, it was pretty pricy

I quite liked this investigation on privacy among browsers. I highly recommend reading this.https://www.unixsheikh.com/articles/choose-your-browser-carefully.html#privacy #browser

@josemanuel @privacybrowser He mentioned something in the intro that if a browser is missing, it is probably because he didn't have a chance to review it.

It's funny that most people think they are born in the only true religion.

@amerika That's so sad. They fall victim to an ideology of just cause where they were born.

@amerika I agree that there are good people and bad people everywhere. And I think people, with a religion, are victims to religion to begin with. But my beef is with the religion itself. Interpretation of religion, IMHO is fundamentally wrong according to rules of many religions. You don't get to interpret the religion anyway you want if you believe that religion is created by a supreme being. If people know enough to interpret a religion and leave out the bad parts, why bother at all?

Damn it. It seems that #mastodon's author is helping Meta to federate with fediverse. WHY? Anyway, Do you folks know how to block any instance that federates with Meta? It's time to find an alternative to mastodon.

@BeAware I'm fine with that. I would rather not interact with Meta at all.Just because it's a big company and presents on 92% of the internet, doesn't mean I have to be ok with their BS.

The fact that people behind #mastodon aren't concerned about these types of problems is scary to me.https://ploum.net/2023-06-23-how-to-kill-decentralised-networks.html
