Many times transphobes try to invalidate transfems by calling us "a man in a dress" or "a man with a wig" to imply that it's a low effort trick done in order to enter gendered spaces and do something nefarious.I think this line of argument is only successful among people who have no idea how much effort the average transfem puts every day into just being herself. A cis man with bad intentions would never go through so much trouble.

I think a good rebuttal to TERFs terfing is: My body my choice!

So, since the original twitter thread by Jos Truitt that makes the case that #HansChristianAndersen was #trans is now hardly accessible at all, I made an effort to reproduce it here in screenshots. All tweets in the thread have alt-text. They all show jostruitt's avatar and name "Jos Abolish ICE Truitt" and are dated 18 Jan 2017.EDIT: for reference, here's the twitter link - https://x.com/jostruitt/status/821706830799896576#TransChristianAndersen

I would really appreciate some boosts for better reach and visibility. The information about HCA being trans keeps getting forgotten and I'm trying my best to spread it to as many people as I can.

The problem with majority rule is that it's a characteristic of our species to be averse to social change. We tend to be biased against the unknown, so it takes a long time for the majority of society to treat oppressed groups with compassion. The backlash to social change always promotes the idea that the needs of the oppressed contradict the rights of the majority. It's enough to look at the right-wing propaganda anywhere in the world to see this in action.

Idea for a wholesome feelgood transfem dating tv show:5 trans women who don't know each other meet together. In each round, 2 of them go the flirting room and the other 3 are watching and commenting. They all know that they'll end up flirting with everyone. No trashing is allowed. The purpose is to learn about everyone's unique personality and to encourage each other to interact with empathy, attentive listening and care - and to have some hot consensual fun.

What I wrote about TERF vs. female chauvinism (https://hachyderm.io/@lulu/113087874116997277) seems to align with what Viv Smythe originally wrote about it (https://hoydenabouttown.com/2008/08/17/carnivalia-transgenderism-and-the-gender-binary/) in the earliest online mention of "TERF".Viv Smythe (aka tigtog) did not coin the term. She said she had heard it from trans activists beforehand (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/nov/29/im-credited-with-having-coined-the-acronym-terf-heres-how-it-happened).In that blog post, she added a note in parenthesis as an edit saying that she resents aligning all radfems with TERFs as the Carnival of Radical Feminists did.

A hypothesis:¹ Maybe right-wing voters are just too overwhelmed, exhausted and burned out from following the political discourse that they prefer to vote for the person who says that everything is simple and promises to fix all of the problems without asking voters to spend any cognitive energy on politics?¹ Not sure if I believe it myself.
