@boilingsteam maybe I'm just not high-volume enough 😂 but seriously all of the trouble we've ever had delivering to a microsoft service has come from a parent hitting "spam" on one of our emails. it only affected that person though. (but for several months, because they didn't believe they'd done it, server logs proved otherwise)

I keep seeing memes with a punch line like "This is George Santos taking the first steps on the moon" or whatever.Yeah, it's amusing, but it's also normalising have a pathological liar in government. The things we joke about are things we're not solving, and America, honey, you've got some shit to solve.

I have a #nextcloud instance that I've been janitor for, for the last 4ish years. Most of that time, the workflow has been "keep it online, we'll clean it up later"Last week I went to add #Collabora CODE support to it. Yeah.... nah. We're doing a new VM for this I think. It's all tape and glue under there.

@thelinuxEXP @boilingsteam @jorge Packaging half an OS worth of dependencies with an app isn't solving the issue, it's kicking the can down the road and making the user pay with a slower experience. One of the cries of the linux user is "it's faster!" but install gimp with snap, and with a .deb then open them both.very different experiences."in the cloud", it's fine, it's a server that does one thing, the binary is already running. on the desktop, where responsiveness matters, not so fine.

When your day starts with board members saying "Please disable (account) at (time)" and then all the people with the long job titles are onsite, you know it's going to be an interesting day.And boy, it *was* interesting!

Today in #TechSupport: Students started arriving with no WiFi. Specifically, no DNS. Pings worked.`netsh int ip reset` does not work. `netsh winsock reset` does not worka full system re-image does not work.Ethernet works. Other access points work, even different SSIDs on the same infra work.Swapping WiFi cards between two identical machines with the same issue works. I am genuinely out of ideas, theories and animals to sacrifice.I've just been swapping WiFi cards and moving on.

Went to dinner and there's a state vs state sports ball game on the TVs. The people there are getting rowdier with each passing score. I assume it's a close game.As I'm checking into the hotel, I check the score cause they have it on too (it's a pretty important game of sports ball if you live in one of the states that are playing)It's 20/nil to the state team where I am.They're not celebrating a good game, they're celebrating the other team losing. This is why I don't sports ball.

@foone I have real printers that will do that randomly, making a fake printer not work seems like a pretty low bar 🤣

ahh, systemd, you're a bastard. I have a perfectly functional DNS resolution setup in my house. You really don't need to do anything to the DNS that DHCP gives you, aside from use it.I don't need a bunch of "Backup" DNS resovlers, and I sure as peepee-poopoo don't need a DNS resolver on my local machine.

@BrodieOnLinux My internal "AI Slop" regex caused me to parse this as "Cause problems with copilot on github"
