@stux I love you. And we have a problem in America. But, let me assure you as a Veteran of the Army that it is not merely because citizens can own firearms. It's a lot deeper than that. We need to enforce the laws on the books. We need stronger vetting and waiting periods for firearms purchases. We need the ability to seize firearms from individuals immediately when necessary. We need yearly evaluations of firearms owners. We need better and affordable care for all of our citizens.

@kmj Because Meta has not submitted and does not plan to release the app in the EU yet. The initial launch is US and UK only. No one in the EU has rejected the app. That is totally false. @folkerschamel

@kmj Those permissions listed are also optional. Google Play Store tags them correctly and in detail. And Threads doesn't need to federate to be successful. Mastodon stays consistently stagnate at 1.4-1.7 million active monthly users. Instagram has 2.5 billion monthly active users. Why are people so convinced that Meta wants Mastodon users info? They could scrape it right now. Their goal is to bury Twitter. Mastodon is not a threat. @Gargron
