@tilvids I do hope we can come up with a method of monetization that doesn't rely on sponsorship to make a living. Because that creates a very dominant relationship and also requires sponsors to be on the platforms to become aware of content creators.That means content creators have to go where the sponsors are, which is probably large, existing platforms.I believe in a peertube plugin to donate directly on peertube based on criteria like viewing time and or reactions (aka tips)

@stuxDo you know why mastodon is struggling? Is it the protocol, the architecture, the code, or something else?Shouldn't a horizontal #autoScaler with a #loadBalancer be able to handle such an increase in load? I know #kubernetes makes this possible especially managed kubernetes instances.

@tilvids #Mastodon is not THAT hard. Come on now...Maybe when more people understand #federation, it'll make them more aware of a bigger part of the web.However, I do agree that some parts of the #UX aren't good: interacting with content or users of other federated services (copy into search bar???) and... uh... Let's be honest, the rest is pretty good.

Did @tuxedocomputers get rid of #AMD #GPU #laptops and increase their prices? 😮 A friend wants to get rid of their #malus hardware to do 3D rendering and just 1 year ago it felt like it was possible to get a good rig under 2k€, but now... there are only Nvidia laptops and they cost about 2k or more 😢 Weren't graphics cards supposed to cost less?
