It's been a real busy day and I think most of you on mstdn.social has noticed we are almost an hour behind on the timelines.. :sad_cat: Past night around 11K new people joined mstdn.social via invite links and this was a little too much to handle :blobcatgiggle: So instead of running in circles, I have setup another public #Mastodon instance with the same rules as on mstdn.To lighten the load on mstdn, perhaps some would care to migrate to the new instance?https://masto.ai/invite/fLZGCQUR

@stuxDo you know why mastodon is struggling? Is it the protocol, the architecture, the code, or something else?Shouldn't a horizontal #autoScaler with a #loadBalancer be able to handle such an increase in load? I know #kubernetes makes this possible especially managed kubernetes instances.

@stux thanks, moved this am, the new server is much more usable, it took a few minutes for .social to pick up my account on .ai to allow the redirect.Note you will lose access to your old profile so make sure you save any profile details and such. I didn't backup anything since the account was a day old - I probably should have.
