@Language1230 @otto the point is their employer who was keeping payroll in the bank does exceed 250k and without access to the deposits cannot pay that janitor for their wages. A lot of people did not get paid on Friday and sweated it out over the weekend if they would get paid at all.

@freakazoid Thank god for that. First gig I worked was at a contracting shop. Everyone there was retooling from a concrete plant. Probably the best “fit” I had. Now I’m over working on software for diesel mechanics.I got out of college looked at what kinds of white collar work my humanities degree could afford me and immediately thought fuck that.

@thegibson Really debating whether I want to spend money this summer upgrading the 10+ year old gaming rig for when CS2 comes out. Or just get the steamdeck.I try to not spend time in the office these days if I'm not working.

Three full days working in the #gardenGot the first batch of ollas made and in the ground. Unfortunately, about a third of them wouldn’t retain water and needed to be patched a second time.Each is a 6” terracotta pot that I sealed the bottom with broken pieces of tile and silicon. Then buried in the vegetable garden with lids to be filled with water.

We accept that the public has little say in the affairs of a business outside of being a consumer and some trifling government regulations around safety.It occurs to me, that democratic society should be able to make any arbitrary demand of a business that it wants down to determining it's operating procedures or even demanding it produce a given product or recall a given product or be immediately nationalized.This is a hammer we should be comfortable wielding instead of polity boycotting and "voting with our wallets"
