       @saskboy And was this the prevailing wisdom when they made those policy decisions or is this new research? It does take time for the latest and greatest to seep into the policy of the body politic - meanwhile, AB/SK/MB & BC would be on the warpath if we restrict LNG [you must know this].

       @saskboy I am saying that effective policy often follows research by a significant lag time. You can be assured that both the NDP and LPC are aware of this new research but developing policy is not something that happens in an instant.

       @nixCraft The problem is: They don't destroy water. The simply heat up which is not a chemical change and, therefore, not recognized as pollution in the minds of thermodynamic idiots.I recall taking third year thermodynamics from Jurgen Kreuzer at Dalhousie University and he made a point of telling us back in 1990ish that our main problem is heat pollution - stopping GHGs will slow it but physics says you can only get rid of it at a well-known rate. We cannot keep pumping 1/2

       @nixCraft that rate is governed by the equation for blackbody radiation and some minor contributions from evaporation and other processes. What we're doing, currently, is releasing the heat from a few billion years worth of the sun's energy (sequestered in the form of chemical bonds in hydrocarbons) into the atmosphere in the span of decades (we are actually warming the atmosphere). Physics says it's gonna get warmer because we can't get rid of the heat faster than physics says.

       @nixCraft People don't believe it can happen but then ask them if they've ever turned the heat up on the furnace too much - we've turned it up and we have no off switch.
