@davidrevoy Still useful when in combat against an entomoncer. Biting and stinging swarms are nasty.

@davidrevoy Maybe also when stepping out of the bath or shower? For a fractional second. Saves on both towels and razor blades.

@futurebird For health reasons, I recommend that you choose genuine and salubrious fungal product as your entheogenic hallucinogens rather than manky sus seismic-petrochemical cave gases or plant-based oleander.

@futurebird Different program languages using the same text string as the name for different functions. What does it mean? Integer type coercion? The integer part? Round to nearest integer? The only way to win is not to play.

@futurebird That is more of a antaur. Four legs from the regular ant abdomen, and two arms from the humanlike torso, then an ant-ish head on top.

I recently got a fulfilled order of art stickers from @joyousjoyness 's print store, and encourage everyone to buy direct from artists, doodlers, and toonists, like @grickle , and to get those orders in early so they can ship in time for $WINTER_HOLIDAY !

@futurebird In Chicago or Indianapolis, it might be closer to "amble lambs" or "amble lants", depending on neighborhood, on the AAVE side of the language and "ambü lanz" on the German/Pole side.

@futurebird My human porter at some point bought two identical "good scissors", and their spouse claimed them both. It wasn't even some kind of stewardship or organization thing. It was just a silent usurpation of all property interest. So they then bought dozens of identical cheap scissors, and planned for sad-cutting and tool-attrition.Porter and spouse are each the youngest of their siblings. This might not be a "has siblings" thing, but "how awful were your siblings to you" thing.

@futurebird @ramsey @Npars01 @hacks4pancakes The worst job-advertisers do not put in equal effort into advertising themselves to the applicant as they put into vetting the candidate against listed qualifications. Unfortunately, "work worth doing" is rare in my sector. It's often a choice between yet another CRUD app with all new marketing copy, or something that automates the complete destruction of cooperative civilization. So highest pay, with a side of soul damage lower than regen rate.

@futurebird @lienrag As with most magic tricks, watch the other hand. Is it affecting the speed of the paper's rotation?

@futurebird I'd print nephrite with perfectly interlocked fibers in the shape of a house, and pure corundum in the shape of triple-glazed windows. I'd call it domusite.

@futurebird Umbral pards, that's who. Go too deep while sofapelunking, and you're liable to find a fissure into the stygian fae, and its sinister caverns. Fill it in with pillows and blankets, quickly!

@futurebird Way too much fluoride in the apatite. UV-cured ceramic fillings in the teeth, perhaps. Post-WW2 nuclear testing changed the isotope ratios of some elements: the traveler might appear to be a different age from other remains in the vicinity, and results inconsistent with ratio tests on other elements. Not enough evidence of parasites during childhood.

@Nonilex ~Entering melee range being a famously effective way to rack up kills with a firearm. While traditionally considered ranged weapons, pistols are actually most lethal inside of arm's length, even if it leaves the attacker vulnerable to trips, sweeps, clinches, and grapples.~The evidence shows the ICE agents extremely distracted by their own impunic brutality. Had any armed observer intended murder, an ICE would have been shot first. There was no fear of armed resisters. None.

@futurebird Everything that can be done to give a child a fleeting moment of magic, should be done, because each memory adds 1MP to their mana pool, to cast spells to benefit the next generation.

@futurebird 8 million seems like enough to set the buyer up with a fake Pica as the real one is spirited away behind a false wall or something. Concoct some kind of stage magician trick so they don't discover the ruse until after Pica escapes with the remaining 7.9 million and then contacts you with the... oh... I have just realized the weak spot in this plan.
