@troed I went through the same transition with a similar background, daily monkeytype sessions for 30 minutes - back to 120wpm after a few weeks (model 100 and a glove80).Now mentally preparing to do it all over again but with a chorded handmount (clawtype).

@david_chisnall @bill88t https://www.divergent-desktop.org/blog/2020/10/29/improving-x/ I had a 'less neighbourly' one queued up and PoCed ever since, as there is another middle ground to be had. In the spirit of choosing both armies and battles wisely - it's not the fight to fight. "Nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy"

I have been idling around Berlin for a few days to mentally prepare for a few things on the horizon. Among my regular spots is the computerspiel museum for that slightly awkward feeling when most of the exhibits are things you lived through. Some things still bring out whatever smile I can muster these days - like the child room safe spaces .. it is not 'much' and that is kind of the point...

@andrewrk Ran into that yesterday. ' If you can't act like a grown up you get to sit around the test-sleep-spin table'.

After being slapped by the n:th "but Claudette 4.5.7-o9 totally changed the game it is different now!" "just prompt better!" claim this week I am increasingly getting the feeling that the real advancement we are bearing witness to is a "Baltimore Stockbroker" on steroids at an unprecedented scale.

@datarama Each model version/name bump is a new "scammer". The LLM whisperers all have their set of key tests (what is six times six etc.),Pass them above some threshold for confidence in the quality of predictions enough to pay to join the religion and the usual set of cognitive biases come into play. With that the punditry blog posts, forum comment marketing, ranging from "outright zealot", "pretend scepticism to appear more grounded", "you are holding it wrong gaslighting" etc. and the particular scam grows in momentum.

After plowing through substantial amounts of pain this little muppet seems to have mostly recovered from her herniated disc. She can already smell the steak waiting for her upcoming 6th birthday a few days from now.

@whitequark the specific model wasn't available at my location but there seem to be several brandings of the same thing. Got this and very happy with it.

@amy then in some near future in the dark of night I will whisper sweet nothings in your ear to sway you into porting it to an arcan-a12-web appl.

@cnx We are changing things at the moment, it's going to be just via arcan-net --put-file to a special name on the server at arcan.divergent-desktop.org but it's still being setup.Currently people just dump patches in the IRC channel (0x0.st as pastebin) or on the Discord.

@david_chisnall A thing I worked on for a bit a few years ago that produced tasty bugs even in its early inception was integrating a fuzzer into the debug part of an IDE (as well as an IDA Pro plugin). It turned a breakpoint into a fuzzpoint. The breakpoint part served as starting state and "harness". The fuzz-part added constraints (fuzzing raw pointers is kind+of pointless) and a type model was generated from local state to feed the fuzzer. The starting state got snapshotted and distributed across a cluster. Each runner had a set strategy for how to explore the model; mutation, execution (e.g. step back to previous branch, solver to pick values that would reach the other path) and watch conditions (usual memory corruption, specific variables changing, ...). Triggers got fingerprinted and checked against a shared database. New discoveries forwarded a locally attached debugger to a pending queue for human inspection. As the story so often goes, the company got acquired, IP buried and left to rot.
