@rootbsd no seriously, when misskey failed building on openbsd for me i thought like 'nooo, i don't want to learn linux webserver and proxy stack, it's so complex'

hey!i launched my own pleroma instance! as of now i don't know if it is going to exist forever, but i'll try.why pleroma?well, i wanted to install misskey initially, because mastodon is kinda heavy for me, and misskey has positive things said about it. but since it hardly depends on quite a lot of node modules, no surprise that installation on openbsd didn't end up well. maybe it would be possible to reach upstream and add openbsd support, but tbh i'm not that advanced.so pleroma. initially, they just attracted me because they had installation instructions for openbsd. yeah, like, official instructions, which is kinda nice! firstly i tried to install it in a vm to just test things out, but soon enough i figured out that it won't work without ssl and certificates. so i decided 'screw it, i'm gonna install it on my server'. and here i am.registrations currently closed but this could be changed later. i'm kinda still figuring out how things are working here.

@coolbsd @retroedgetech as for now, i can tell that openbsd and pleroma play together very nicely, no trouble so far 😎

if you have 8+ Gb of RAM and you aren't compiling heavy things all the time, probably not.

yay! i fixed it. it was a silly thing, btw. my reverse-proxy was serving content-security-policy header with `form-action 'self'` among other values, this caused failure of authentication from other apps.but why fedilab worked? i guess this is the question that will remain unanswered.i probably should tell pleroma devs about this, because i used their guide when i was installing pleroma.

just rewritten my website's build system. purged jekyll.decided to go with roman zolotarev's ssg and rssg, but i tweaked them a bit to generate pages for gemini too, because maintaining two different things became unwieldy.now it's even more minimal.next, i want to fill it up with some content, because it's still a bit empty. my goal is to gradually build something like a personal wiki.also i added a page that lists all my self-hosted things.https://aaoth.xyz/selfhosting.html

@solene hi! i tried to run openbsd on my main pc and i noticed a weird thing. it seems that it doesn't detect all the fans and after some time the machine heats up quickly. how do i debug these kind of things?for comparison, on linux the very same machine is never warmer than 40°C (the die temperature), but on openbsd it heats up until 62°C when pretty much nothing is happening (load averages are like 0.05 max).
