@stux your "digital" rights are no different than your real rights. Free Software for a Free Internet and a Free Society!

@a_cat didn't humans actually domesticated wolves (or wolf-like dogs) and they became the modern dog? At any rate that's gotta say something about human skill :P

@brandon sounds like you're on the right track! I myself took a fairly long time to adapt to tiling wm, but now kind of think there's no way back.Might sound like a bit of Stockholm syndrome, but the longer you stay the better it gets!

@brandon exactly! Can't get closer to the Free Software spirit than this! Also, plenty of ricing options available, just check /r/unixporn - 90% done in tiling window managers!

@tek amen, certificate-based auth is so (deceptively!) easy to set up, not to mention so much secure

@FimbulK @polarisfm sad thing is that with their not-so-tiny army of lawyers, probably no one will be able to use the code even though they can read it due to threats of prosecution. Still, this gotta be good.

@Main_Tomato Sad to see. It reminds me of the current status for "Privacy Protection" that most web pages now display in the age post-GDPR: "Yes we track you. No, there's nothing you can do about it. Click here to consent and get back to business. You probably don't care about it anyway."

Got the Pi to run samba so it acts as a NAS in the house. However, there must be other things it can do too (and also give back to the community)What else should I host on it? Some candidates I've been thinking: - Tor/I2P hidden service - Nextcloud - XMPP instance - Mastodon / Pleroma (yay #fediverse!) - Peertube (my connection is kinda shit, though) - IPFS / Tox supernodesIdeas?

@tuxcrafting within a 100% ethical world, this would be great. In the real world, this is probably the worst nightmare in software injection vulnerabilities and general infosec...Not to say it would continue encouraging nonfree drivers as nobody would be particularly required to release the source (in case of the bytecode version).(sorry if I bust the bubble)

@tuxcrafting I see, I guess if there could be an easy way to reverse engineer them, this would be a good idea. I'd just fear somebody silently masking malware behind a "poorly coded driver" for that USB coffee maker they're selling.

@codesections dunno if you've fixed it by now, but I myself never got Qt to work right on my machines. Fonts looked weird, never resized correctly and sometimes did not even render at all. My "solution" was just switch to GTK+
