Like one time I came across a thread of leftists just trashing on Chelsea Manning, an anarchist who spent years in prison and solitary confinement because she was brave enough to expose US war crimes, all because she made a very silly mistake of palling around with some right-wing assholes, mere months after being released from prison. She immediately apologized and said that she would do better. Didnt matter to these people. She was "cancelled." That is fucking obscene

But this happens all the time, and it really is a fucking problem, and leftists need to cut it out. Like, we seriously need to learn a little comradely loyalty to each other. If Chelsea Manning didnt do enough to earn that, than nobody did, and that is fucking terrifying. And that is incredibly stifling and unhealthy. But again, would never say this on Tumblr. If you've got some "dirt" on some other leftist or friend, or they did something you dont like or think is problematic, and they arent a clear and present violent danger to others, then go tell them about it. Speak to the problematic person about your concerns. Certainly dont publicize it or spread it around to defame them. That wont do any good and at best creates weird tribalism and defensiveness.
