@0x3F How noble. I would have just withdrawn from the course early.

@0x3F After the late nights I've had this week, I would definitely do the sleep. Are you doing the sleep?

@noelle The list of things considered warning signs are pretty much discussions I'd expect to hear in an ethical workplace. Amazon certainly has established that it is not one.

@crushv Oh dear. That's not actually a building belonging to the education company, is it?

@grainloom One of the most common issues people run into (if they manage to install the Guix System distribution) is running third-party programs that expect a "normal" Linux file system layout. I'm not sure what the best plan of attack for this is, but it's definitely a roadblock for many, myself included.

@grainloom This may or may not count since its already packaged, but I was told by someone on IRC that Guix's Godot engine package was somewhat out-of-date, and of course the binaries won't without ELF and/or LD_LIBRARY_PATH tweaking. One that I packaged for myself about a year ago was IQMol, one of many molecule editing and visualization tools. The provided binary only ran on FHS-compliant systems, and the source code had a long list of hardcoded paths to libraries in an include file, though I could just be misunderstanding how qmake and co. work.

It's been a while since I've looked at a so-called "debate" online, and it seems like things have only gotten worse. Just people cornering marginalized individuals (or those that try to represent them) and berating them.

@cwebber The studio head’s shock tells me that either no one during the entire development of the game brought any of this up or people weren’t listened to. Amazing
