       @ondra Why use a perfectly good web app when you can use a less good Android app? 🤣 I hear you and this is why I tend to use web / PWA over Android apps on my Chromebook. Some people just want to use Android for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

       @ondra good point. To me, using a web app where one is available, feels obvious. But that’s likely because I’ve used ChromeOS for a decade and have always relied primarily on the web. 😉 Still, I agree with you and will update the post to mention using Instagram on the web. Thanks!

       More progress on my little #Mastodon hashtag tracking project in #JavaScript. Cutting through all the data of each status being streamed in real time start parsing out hashtags and store them to a file. That&#39;s just for now; will need to implement a simple database later. #Learning #n00b

       Having switched from Gmail to a paid #ProtonMail account with a custom domain 3 years ago, I can appreciate the reasons why folks don’t consider it. This video covers most of them quite well. Even so, I wouldn’t go back if you paid me to. Privacy and security are worth the cost IMO, even if I give up a few convenience features.        @Adam Fair point! But Chromebook users are already very much tied into Google&#39;s services, so they&#39;re not likely to use, let alone even know about, those. I do try to surface such options, having just covered NextCloud as a Chromebook replacement for many of Google&#39;s built in services. I&#39;ll continue to do so.
