@AntennaPod @mrrulfA personal side-note: I love it that our friends over at Funkwhale have worked on making Funkwhale content available as podcast. But the project doesn't really (aim to) provide a podcasting-first experience. So when subscribing to these feeds you will get a basic experience. That's perfectly fine of course, but I would recommend (potential) podcasters to check out @Castopod instead (which offers great extra things specifically for podcasts.

Had a great first #OpenPodcastAPI meeting yesterday. Strange combination: a podcast (@festundflauschig) that is active in the Fediverse (embracing Open Source for their marketing & community building) but that publishes content since a few months in a 'walled garder' exclusively (i.e. Spotify only with open RSS feed killed).Should we call this hypocrite? A couple of years ago I started helping out with Dutch translations for this app I used to listen to podcasts, @AntennaPodOver time I got more & more involved. Now I'm in over my head, in a range of areas.It's time to let go of some stuff, hand over translations to someone else. Why it's great that the Commission is present to present the Cyber Resilience Act: even though non-commercial OSS is excluded, the legislation can have unintended consequences for non-commercial initiatives.For example: @nlnetlabs makes software and (to sustain the organisation) 'sells' technical support. Thus they believe they would have to comply. Meaning, for example: money spent on staff to prove compliance instead of improving security of software. Worth checking back the talk.#FOSDEM

@dave @theDanielJLewis It's a nice I initiative but I don't really like that it's partly reinventing the wheel. There is an open, decentralised & interoperable system for social interactions. Castopod even makes each podcast the root entity out of the box. We just need the tiny last bit: making them accessible/openable from (not in) AntennaPod (to let dedicated apps do the complicated stuff of editing, favouring, notifications, etc).
