the jeep hack from some years ago should have had an impact on the design of these systems by nowit would be nice to have a physical tcu disconnect switch (and also equipment that doesn't spy; i.e., collect and store to transmit on every connection), but at least you find and disconnect/remove it like you didi'm not an expert, but i know at least in some cases there is also separate wifi, which might search for and connect to open networks... 1/

@drgo yeah, i learned my lesson years and years ago. there are a lot of people out there you can't talk to about anything except, like, weed, work, and marvel movies.being able to opt-out from so much BS is a gift.

@drgo that's essentially my philosophy. there are a variety of general reasons that *imo* apply again *imo* to a surprising large number of ppl: people waste your time/don't care until they can make a buck; people are often interested in taking advantage and are willing to harm if it benefits them or whatever group they identify with regardless of desperation; people have beliefs, not thoughts and i'm pretty sure i'm stealing this from carlin but people with beliefs are generally dangerous

@drgo agree 💯 even if i moved there, it'd be a temporary thing -- i haven't lived anywhere consistently for more than four or five years with the exception of the state i grew up in... i've spent only a couple of years living outside of the US, but the way things are going, my gut is saying "srsly bro it's time to gtfo." my gut has been good to me so far. 😂
