I have to believe that they don't think a fetus is human. If they did, absolutely none of what they do and say is morally justifiable. Their vaunted "bodily integrity" argument even in the most optimum case never gives you enough ethical leverage to murder someone.Which is why they can't ever agree on when exactly a fetus becomes human. If they did the precedent would shatter their illusion of moral superiority and that's their real sacred cow. So you're right, they don't allow themselves to think in those terms. I suppose an innocent sounding question you could ask them is "When are babies made?"

To it's credit, the Colorado GOP has also said if this ruling stands, they will switch to caucus'ing in their state instead of a normal vote. In a caucus system, it would not be possible to remove any specific name from consideration because caucuses don't work like that.

I think this is the right answer. Every "right" bestowed on you comes with a requisite responsibility. Those who fail that responsibility lose that right. For example, the right of free speech entails the responsibility to defend the free speech of others, especially those you most disagree with. The right to have a say in the political destiny of the country (i.e. vote) requires you have a stake in that country, whether that is your life in a military draft, or your money in taxes, etc.

@Davey1602 is it really a sacrifice when the same government pays out more in benefits than it takes in taxes? You can't claim to have a monetary stake in this country when you put in less than you take out. Perhaps I should have said net taxpayer, instead.

Diversity brings out the turtle in everyone. No one wants to help, volunteer, or be involved with a diverse community. The vacuum it creates is filled by criminals and the dregs of society. The people that laud 'Diversity' knew this fact more than a decade ago, but they pushed it forward anyway.

I wish it was merely hypocrisy. I think it was done with the deliberate intention to mislead and harm. Otherwise, how would they be so perfectly positioned to demonstrate that hypocrisy- wouldn't they try harder to hide it that they are breaking rules they set themselves?

I dunno. I think if you picked a random person off the street, you'd likely get better candidates. The problem is that they (a) would not want that kind of responsibility and (b) could never secure the type of funding and support they would need to be effective.

Well, that's obvious isn't it? Republicans love to lose, give up, stand aside and step down. That's what they have done constantly almost everywhere up until now. There are copious examples of it- take Lindsay Graham quietly approving the nomination of almost all of Biden's court picks for the last 4 years.One of the biggest differences MAGA has with Republicans isn't on conservative policies, it's that MAGA likes to win. Bigly. It makes a substantial difference when you have confidence in your actions.

If this analysis is right than it puts the Trump Admin in a very bad place, but it tracks with their early optimism about release and later total retraction. I still think you would be better off, given how you are otherwise forced to lie in a very unconvincing fashion, to just level with the public.
