While I agree with many of their positions regarding family issues, foreign policy, etc., their "consistent life ethic" is not something I could ever bring myself to support.Using State violence to police individual morality is ineffective (not to mention, against the Christian principles that they claim to support).

It's really crazy how people who complain about "Cultural Marxism" are actually complaining about the *exact same* things that genuine Cultural Marxists (Frankfurt school et al) are complaining about.Somehow, the establishment has convinced them that the enemy is other people who have the exact same thoughts but call it something different, rather than, y'know, the establishment itself.

"Under the private monopoly of culture, tyranny...[leaves] the body free and sets to work directly on the soul. The ruler no longer says 'Either you think as I do, or you die'; he says: 'You are free not to think as I do; your life, your property - all that you shall keep. But from this day on you will be a stranger among us.' Anyone who does not conform is condemned to an economic impotence which is prolonged in the intellectual powerlessness of the eccentric loner."- The Dialectics of Enlightenment, publication of the Frankfurt School of Cultural Marxism

@metalune Cultural Marxism is a term that is often used to refer to the Frankfurt School of Critical Theory which was an intellectual movement in the 1920s which criticized the self-perpetuating, homogeneous, reductionist, intolerant, etc. nature of culture and media under liberal capitalism.Nowadays, there are some American conservatives who are also criticizing liberal media, but they use the word "Cultural Marxism" to describe this liberal media. Which is crazy since Cultural Marxism itself is a criticism of liberal media.

@hyperrealgopher Rust is sooo great! I would definitely recommend to learn it :)Although - it's more inspired by OCaml than Haskell, in terms of both syntax and attitude towards functional programming - it definitely values practicality over correctness or elegance, and you should expect to write a lot of ugly imperative code.
