       Ya know, if people didn't insist on using #jitsi I may have a more decent option for a #webcam -- other than the badly-placed built-in webcam on my computer. 🙄

       @jwinnie Oh I'm pretty sure they won't changed it. Ya know, tech people love open source and anything other than that is considered dumb or evil. ðŸĪŠ #Zoom works best for me -- with it, I can use my old #Symbian phone as a #webcam.#GoogleMeet and #Skype are okay too.I only get on #Jitsi via #browser. I don't want to download another app. 😝

       @evelynyap Why doesn't Jitsi work with your Symbian phone?Also, there is another open-source app called Matrix, maybe it will work better for you :)

       @evelynyap meet.jit.si doesn't let me choose the webcam on firefox but does on chrome or chromium. Don't know if that is relevent.

       @Baggypants I use Microsoft #Edge. Love it.In the past I've used #Firefox and #Chrome on and off. And on and off. I keep ending up uninstalling them. ðŸĪ· Not going back there. #browsers

       @jwinnieJitsi/Skype/GoogleMeet won't show the Symbian phone cam as an option. It only shows the computer's built-in camera. For the latter 2, I already use those apps on my mobile, so I can do video chat on mobile.I'm on Matrix but never use it for voice/video. No friends/family there. My only contacts there are people here on Mastodon who added me. 🙃  I might uninstall it. No real use for it. The people there are the same people here, and we don't really chat there anyway.

       @jordan31 Ah, yes. The very badly-placed one is on my gamer-style notebook (low-nose-shot a.k.a. big-fingers-shot) and the sort-of-correctly-placed one is on my Surface Pro but it's on a kickstand so the camera is at an angle and not a straight shot at me -- which makes it another bad shot.Photogenic people can get away with bad shots. Not me. 😅 hehe
