@xj9 Imagine the words "plattform" and "someone from the eu is allowed to leave data behind" from my last toot in bold text. With "Leaving data behind" I mean the tracking and saving data of every user, every website does nowadays. If you have a plain HTML site that doesn't save data from their users in any way, then you are right. But as soon as you handle data, you might be handling data from EU citizen and in that way you are involved, even if you are not in the EU yourself.

@xj9 I probably should also state that I'm in no way 100% sure about that, but reading artikel 13 and the eu data thing from 2018, it is understandable in that way and the big plattforms like facebook and google etc were handling the gdpr in that way.

@xj9 @selea We are not the EU police, at least I'm not.I just live there and am as annoyed by those "We want to do it better but didn't think it through" laws as everyone who is using the internet from here or is providing a platform for sharing.

After not using my #linux laptop for a while, updates have been impossible to do. So a new installation needed to be done and this time I decided on #elementaryOS - i mean, it is stylish and seems easy to use. But just like in manjaro, there is no driver for wifi automatically installed. :/ and finding a way to install it in elementary in a non-commandline way, also seems impossible to find (couldn't even find the installed drivers).So.. I'll go back to #manjaro once more

@selea I don't know the exact driver right now, but broadcom something. The thing still is, even though elementary os is a beautiful linux distro, not having a visual overview of the drivers is bothersome for me. Manjaro might be more difficult/has been difficult when I first set it up, but using it was fairly easy. Thank you though :)

I still haven't decided on the distro I want to stick with on my laptop. Does some #artist on here have experience with #openSuse ? I use it in work in development and quite like it, but don't know if it is the right choice for creating art.#openSource #art #linux

@ScribbleAddict Can't help with the "where to buy" question, I myself have a Cintiq 13HD. But if I'm honest I'm thinking of buying a huion one of those days, since reviews show a similar quality for a smaller price.

@dona I've got a similar problem with a lot of games. Sometimes no problem, other times just nope, doesn't work. I know it's stronger when I have a barely noticible headache. I can't play BotW because of that, or watch Sims 4 videos of builds with a walkthrough at the end (just the walkthrough causes the problem for me). They problem is known as far as I know. When I was still at uni, someone did there thesis on motion sickness in VR games and how to prevent them.

@dona My motionsickness started somewhen after I stopped using the pill. I only used it for three month, but the disadvantages I had because of it, made me stop rather quickly (increased allergy reaction after it decreased over puberty, neurodermites was gone, now I've got it again because of it...). The motionsickness thing I had as a child before, but it stopped when I was around 10, And it started again about half a year after the pill.

@dona The only thing I remember is that there should be the tip of the nose in the VR scene, because thats the way the brain orientates itself - or something like that 😅 It's sadly the only thing I remember, and I don't think thats something VR games have picked up yet.

@dona @AesAthena Same here with reading in the car and playing games that allow you to move the camera (or just walk throug areas is sometimes enough for me). This whole thing started when I stopped taking the pill and my body readjusted, I was 21 or 22 then, so propably nothing teen related for me sadly ^^" I hope that my body readjusts itself slowly again, so I can enjoy the simple things in life again (being on the phone, passing the time during trainrides)

@dona I'm guessing the brain isn't able to "render it out" the way we don't notice our own noses, since we didn't grow up with that 3d Nose :D But I wonder the same thing, if that would actually work.

Question: If I would design a Streaming Overlay, which symbol would say "I've got the mic on and can talk to you"? Speechbubble or a simplified microphone?

@ChrisWere @Tjiho Some (maybe most) are walking along the lines of morality (some better than others). In german we have a word for the current sociaty (maybe the society was like this half a century ago as well): Ellenbogengesellschaft. Roughly translates to that you have to have your "elbows out" to make your way. Never was a friend of that kind of thinking. I'm always someone who rather helps other people "get up" than myself.

@ChrisWere @Tjiho And then is privilige like you describe here. I'm not free of that guilt as well, since I'm from germany. But I try to do my little steps towards a better world (shop locally as far as possible etc). The thing is, as individuals it's difficult to make a real impact to change the world to a better place. But as long as there are those that try their best to better it, it might work out in the long run.

Is someone here on art interested in getting into Webdesign/HTML/CSS?I was thinking about it for a while to make something like a "quickstart" for artists to have the basic knowledge for HTML and CSS to build a simple website. Just want to know if there is interest here to make something like a tutorial for it :)
