@tilvids @thelinuxEXP @vkc we're definitely considering dropping YouTube and focussing on supporter content. Biggest challenge is the storage as you know. For me, it comes down to YouTube allowing utter garbage and not taking any kind of content reporting seriously. Plus, security, and grossly weight stuff.

@tilvids @abcxyz @realsimon @thelinuxEXP @vkc For me, as both a smallish content creator and a video watcher, I would love ads that are based on the video content, not my data.I'd love to see a non invasive way of doing pre-roll ads that match the tone of the instance. For example, on @tilvids it could be ads for online learning, etc, or maybe ads from other creators on the platform. If I could run ads for other creators, no matter my channel size, and give a % back to the instance, I would

@seth is it Chromium based? I looked at Brave, but something about it... maybe the crypto baked in, made me not be keen.

@james I’d definitely encourage that. My go to these days is @tailscale as it’s super simple to setup and use, and you can have multiple exit nodes.

@james Proton is nice too.Tailscale is a bit different as it won’t auto route your traffic unless you setup and select an exit node - that can be at your home or in some hosting. We use it to allow my partner to show as having a UK IP - she has her exit node set to my Pi in my office.

@tilvids does PeerTube allow for content to be in another storage location? Like some S3 compatible block storage ? Or is speed a key factor here ?

@tilvids that makes a lot of sense.I was thinking more of Backblaze to be honest, as I fully agree on not using the shopping company or the window maker.I love your idea of federating with creators’ instances.

Are you frakking kidding me ?No federal law in the US mandates breaks in a shift or breaks between shifts ?Apparently it’s a matter best left to the employer? UK law, however mandates a 20 or more break for shifts 6 hours or more and a break between shifts of no less than 11 hours.https://www.gov.uk/rest-breaks-workI wish I could bring @jae over here now, thanks Tory Scum for making that insanely difficult.

@frameworkcomputer I would love a USB-C / Thunderbolt docking station that had the expansion card options. Not sure if that makes sense, but I could see a big market for it - customisable docks. For example, I have a Dell WD-15 at my parents I leave there. But, it's got VGA etc that I don't want.Give me modules to swap around and I’d snap it up!
