@enkiv2 @enkiv2 I'm not quite sure I get what you mean with "effort" in this context.

@dredmorbius I saw you tooting about this and a few days later I have a working solution through Nextcloud & COPS. I know this doesn't solve your problem, but it solved a problem I didn't know I had, so thanks!

@hector Hannah Arendt coined the term "banality of evil" to describe this in her book about the trial of the nazi Adolf Eichmann.

@peter Any reasonable publication would have continued with "Which is of course both hilarious and wrong."

@dredmorbius I think it's slightly more than that. The article explicitly contrasts it with Dewey.

@thomasfuchs Is this from a recent article? It's kind of astonishing if it is: productivity has steadily climbed, but time working has not dropped.

@thomasfuchs So maybe the real social harm from video games is multiple generations of brogrammers.

My current working hypothesis is that every popup with the words "we care about your privacy" is proof of the opposite.

@Ninjatrappeur Isn't "having more information directly in sight" a solution to short term memory problems? Humans can juggle around seven things in short term memory at a time and writing things down has been the most common solution to that limit. Or is there something about the question I don't understand?

@Ninjatrappeur I think I got the question. It was just that the premise seemed counterintuitive, since visualising more information has been the goto solution for the very strict limits human short term memory has.

@Ninjatrappeur I guess what I mean is that as far as I know, short term memory is pretty fixed. I'm sure it can be damaged with lesions and affected short term by things like lack of sleep, but doesn't seem like muscle that needs to be exercised. Please tell me, if you find better answers!

Are there any people familiar with cryptography and crypto keys that could help me with a personal project? I just have a couple of questions that I could use some help with.

@imacrea I would also add that the social expectations on how the two are used also differ. Pixelfed is tool for sharing pictures; you can also use Mastodon for sharing pictures.
