Does #mastodon have a soft-block pseudo-feature? Does "block then unblock a user" stop them following you, silently? Does it work across instances?

@kev Ta :-) I get that any sequence that ends with “unblock a user” means they can see me. I should’ve asked: how do I stop someone following me, if they’re already following me and I have no reason to hard-block them?

@TechConnectify Yep, it was called “KBB” back in the early 2000s when I attended one: “Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms”. My employer made range cookers (what you yanks simply call “cookers”, I suspect) and we were showing off the new models!

@simon I don’t see the downside in popularising “ChatGPT will bullshit you”. Less anthropwossname; more succinct; more visceral, hence might get internalised where alternatives wouldn’t.

I think I need to buy a #monitor that’s wider than my #laptop’s #screen. @simon GCP’s Storage Transfer Service to a GCS bucket with appropriate storage class settings. It can run periodically, and it’s totally hands off and serverless. It’d cost you the S3 transfer + API call fees plus GCS storage fees.
