@fuxoft AFAIK publishing a list of blocked instances is upon admins' discretion, e.g. Mastodon.social has their list here: https://github.com/Gargron/mastodon.social-misc

@fuxoft https://github.com/keredson/gnomecast looks promising.I have tried https://mkchromecast.com/ but didn't work well on macOS.There's also free, non-OSS http://castplayer.me/ - which is weird, requires Chrome and keeps a daemon.

@pfm There's quite a hype about Roam because it combines bidirectional links and transclusion within an outliner: https://roamresearch.com/However they've recently announced outrageous pricing to deal with scaling issues so there are alternatives popping up, like https://obsidian.md/ and https://github.com/athensresearch/athensAlso this list: https://nesslabs.com/roam-research-alternatives

@Fairphone I wonder if beside repairability they will also require manufacturers to provide security patches…

@fuxoft The Venetian Lagoon is shallow and quite separated from the sea, so low tides play their part. Also there is a system of dams, MOSE, to protect the city from high tides.

@pfm trail blazer, from Bush himself:> There is a new profession of trail blazers, those who find delight in the task of establishing useful trails through the enormous mass of the common record.https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1945/07/as-we-may-think/303881/

#TodayILearned you don't need CSS to enable dark mode support, just this tag: `<meta name="color-scheme" content="dark light">`So I enabled it on my blog (https://www.bitoff.org/) and removed syntax highlighting in the process. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Thanks to @tdarb for tip! https://bt.ht/html-dark-mode

Twitter paying out $5 million to a few selected “creators” is just Musk handing out giant teddy bears to suckers in a rigged game of peach-basket. As Cory Doctorow puts it in @pluralistic:“No one wins a giant teddy bear unless the carny wants them to win it. Why did the carny let the sucker win the giant teddy bear? So that he'd carry it around all day, convincing other suckers to put down five bucks for their chance to win one.” https://pluralistic.net/2023/01/21/potemkin-ai/#hey-guys

@mirek @honzajavorek Proto používám aliasy (email relays) a svůj pravý email vydám výjimečně.Jen to občas vede k zábavným situacím když alias musím diktovat. Jednou mi volal majitel eshopu že ten email co jsem zadal je jejich.

I've stumbled upon a post on @fastmail blog from 2009 posted originally by a company Fastmail acquired 10 years ago.Between company websites which can't keep even their internal links working and acquisitions which evaporate years of content overnight, I'm glad to see someone actually fighting the link rot. Kudos for that!
