@davew The cool kids these days are using Discord for the platform for coffeehouse sized social nets, including the shared audio hangout space.I'm not sure what the best equivalent is among free protocol based systems.

@lauren An assumption that if they don't join the LLM race, either their stock price will dip or that they will lose the chance to own business territory which appears to be in contention.We will keep having these boom/panics as long as we have these conditions, whatever the new "platform" is.At least with Google+, I could understand what business model threat it responded to. LLMs? Not so obvious.

@lauren Google saw what Apple did to ad tracking by changing their mobile browser configuration.Privacy Sandbox sounds like a technical fix in code they control in order to protect one of their money fountains.This will probably be an unhappy ride.

@Miniver I read "A Game of You" tonight and followed Wanda's arc. The first gem was actually Samuel R. Delany's intro to the collected volume.I will have to look back at the interaction of Dream with Nuala the fairy. Dream plays his role as haughty, detached ceremonial officer. Except with Nuala and with his post-human now-raven sidekick.Curiously the dream-manipulating creature in his domain bothered Dream not a bit.And then the running "Barbie vs. Ken" counterpoint.
