Not enough but somewhat surprisingly, LibDem (-18.8) to SNP (+18.8) swing of 37.6 points in Shetland Islands

OK, waiting 1 constituency result - Dumbarton, apparently Labour requested a recount so I guess it is a flip to SNP.. Aside from that, from 45 seats:SNP - 37 - 2 gains, 35 holdsLibDems - 4 - 4 holdsTories - 3 - 3 holds, 1 lossLabour - 1 - 1 hold, 1 lossTomorrow the remaining 27 constituencies are declared, previously 25 were SNP and 2 tories.. one of the latter being a borders region so likely very safe.So if SNP hold their 25 (which isn't guaranteed) then they'll end up with 62 seats (63 if they have flipped Dumbarton) which is 3 (or 2) short of an overall majority and a gain of 3 (or 4) seats on 2016 constituency figures. They might flip Aberdeenshire West but doubtful. In 2016 they gained just 4 list seats taking them to 63 in total .. so the majority is still possible.. however, were I a betting man I'd posit that the Scottish Greens might (just) hit double figures in list seats tomorrow and return another pro-independence majority to Holyrood. However, it seems like the unionists have been playing strategically so its pretty much all up in the air.. There are 56 list seats up for grabs.Sadly, I'll probably be too busy tomorrow to keep up with the results as they come in.

.. or maybe more than 46 are being declared today???? Another one which isn't Dumbarton just has been called (another SNP gain) so I've no clue wtf is happening.. The National stated that 46 would be called today..

@bruno seems like they are pausing at 47 until tomorrow as Aberdeenshire East vote counters have had too long a day.

fairphone now mostly configured now, though no doubt I'll be tweaking things all evening. The default launcher had to go.. using smart launcher for now but when time allows, I'll look into switching it to something opensource.. I do like it's categorisation though.. but almost none of the widgets on apps I've installed are available with this launcher.. tried KISS too but it wasn't for me.(https://jk.nipponalba.scot/note/609aa4f9/)

sorted.. issue was that when I turned on the /e/ fairphone3+ for the very first time with an SD Card that was sitting doing nothing in my pinephone.. It asked me how I wanted to use it.. I selected the option that meant, don't install anything on there but /e/ went ahead and did so anyway.. despite not being used really at all, the SD Card seems to be flaky and any apps which had been installed on it (most of them) didn't have any widgets available.. moving them to internal storage resolved that.I only have one issue, with Carnet, the note-taking software I use.. it loads quite the thing, and it syncs well with my nextcloud instance.. but somewhat inconveniently it crashes when I try to type anything into a note...

Just updated my pixelfed instance and for the first time in a while, I really like the new additions (and can actually use them, which hasn't always been the case previously with me having a postgresql DB).Pronouns on profile pageNew admin panel for instance settingsCustom CSS.. though this might actually be the first site I've hosted where I'm not sure that I could make improvements to the look.. nice to have though if I do spot something!(https://jk.nipponalba.scot/note/609b8118/)

@chidgey but not without issues, particularly if your instance uses postgresql, I have a bunch of open tickets still, but progress is being made.

Going to take a half day off and try to get my 2nd jab at the mobile vaccination bus today.. been 8 weeks and 1 day since the 1st so good to go.. hopefully there won't be too massive a queue.. though an indication of significant voluntary uptake would be nice.(https://jk.nipponalba.scot/note/60e7f774/)

Not going to lie, I'm pretty excited with the idea that at some point in the not so distant future, I'm going to be retiring this pleroma instance.Moving back to mastodon on low-powered SBCs with all of its rails accoutrement was never an option. I have tried hosting soooo many activitypub instances and none have really sat well with me.. the one I liked most is taking an inordinate amount of time to implement postgresql compatability that it has basically ruled itself out of any future consideration.Whilst its still early in its lifecycle, I'm excited by where GoToSocial is going, and it already provides most of the functionality that I actually use on pleroma anyway.. so will soon make the transition.. and *hopefully* be done with pleroma, I've been forced to endure TERFs on each of the most recent tickets I've raised with pleroma so will be happy to see the back of it.What excites me most is that being an API only (or primarily) approach, I can do whatever I want with it.. which of course I could do anyway with other activitypub apps (at least the ones with intelligible APIs), but they tend all to be packaged with excess that I use out of convenience. But, I think I can get GtS to interact with my website in the way I've hoped was possible for years and will be something that I'll feel more enthusiastic about promoting, even if it means I need to do more work to set up sites for friends and families.. at least its distinct, not just a twitter-like experience.. which hasn't been a big selling point thus far.Questions will shortly follow over whether I really need my pixelfed instance as well.. but I'll need to make my website much prettier before I put that one out to pasture.

As someone who took down the satellite dish and disconnected the TV aerial antenna upon moving in to our house about 7 years ago.. I'm finding the experience of watching terrestrial TV and the channels' catch up apps both infuriating and sickening..The sheer volume of ads is infuriating and much more than 7 years ago.. the content of a large volume is "Brexit is great" and it's bloody sickening.. though I am in Grampian TV region so could just be the Tory influence up here.. though my suspicion is that it's widespread.(https://jk.nipponalba.scot/note/61086e81/)

As unfortunately frame.work laptops are unlikely to be available in this region until well into next year and I have to buy a laptop for my niece for the start of her university term, I'm looking at refurbished Thinkpads (as I've noticed them to be very popular here) but I've never used one so what models might be worth checking out?It should be reasonably light and able to handle windows 10, office stuff, browsing, streaming etc. with decent battery life. Boosts and suggestions welcomed. Thank you.#AskFedi

OK, down to 0 follows! Folks, those of you who follow this account and are still active. Please do your instance admin a favour and unfollow this account as I'll be shutting down this server in about a week's time I guess. My time with pleroma is finally coming to an end and I'm off to the greener pastures of GoToSocial.
