@futurebird Buying vitamins the other day and first words from cashier, “phone number?”Er, no.Then at the end, "email address for receipt?”The email question shows up a lot during checkout now. The thing is, even if you give it to them they’ll either still ask you every time OR they’ll use it with other info they've deduced to make your new “account”.

Wife came home from errands yesterday and I noticed she stopped off at neighbor’s.“Did you take misdelivered mail over?”"No, I gave them money.”"Oh?”“I am so pissed about the cuts to snap, medicaid, and messing with the VA that they depend on. @futurebird Years ago I was taking bus ride to Boston and was the only passenger for part of the trip. Reading a book (Longitude), I made a sound after reading a passage and the driver asked what was up.“There's a contest to find longitude and one of the entrants proposes wounding a dog on the ship, then remote healing it at the top of the hour back home. Doing this every hour.”I figured the driver would shake his head in wonder, but instead he replied, “I believe in remote healing.”

@meganL @ascentale @bikenite Dropper post. Being able to quickly get seat low and out of the way has changed how I bike, whether it's mtb, fat bike, or gravel. Easier to put a foot down or even bail completely. Having the seat low helps get going when fat bike is on narrow packed trail or gravel bike has a heavy load.#BikeNite

Man, I hate soldering "modern" wire. It's about as strong as dandelion fluff and you never know if it's an odd aluminum/copper blend that won't wick solder. Makes me want to scrounge old telephone wire out of the walls.
