I have been running the @duckduckgo bot since 2018. Today somebody claiming to be associated with DuckDuckGo contacted the instance owner and took control of the account without giving me the chance to react.I am pretty shocked by the method TBH...

@mathdatech1 J'utilise un password hasher depuis plus de 10 ans. Pas besoin de stocker les mdp sur un serveur. C'est facile et efficace: domaine + mdp simple -> mdp robuste. @popolon @mathdatech1 Le hasher a l'avantage de générer un mdp différent pour chaque domaine. Si l'un d'eux est compromis, les autres ne le sont pas, ce qui n'est pas le cas si on utilise la même longue phrase partout (J'espère avoir bien compris ton commentaire)

@popolon @mathdatech1 Pas de danger si le hash est assez long. J'utilise 16:62 possibilités pour chaque caractère donc 62^16 (47672401706823533450263330816) essais dans le pire des cas, la moitié en moyenne. avec un milliard d'essais par seconde il faudrait au pire 47672401706823533450 secondes, soit 1511681941489 ans pour y arriver (ou 755840970744 ans en moyenne). Ca me paraît pas mal.

@niclas I thought so too but it has been there for 7 years. It was originally set up as a temporary "art" exhibition with book saved from trash and a closing library.

@unixsh_it I don't know what VFIO is. My opinion is that the people that would use linux on the desktop are of a special kind and they are using it already.
