The #fediverse (specifically ActivityPub) is basically like us taking Email or even UUCP or FTN and doing it really fast between web-servers as JSON./actors, /inboxes and /outboxes.. everything else is implementation.

@alex @scottjenson @slightlyoff absolutely no issues here on small and medium instances. Federation is working perfectly. The problem comes from everyone trying to use a few big instances.

@Songstobe you'll see two very different answers to that.For folks on big instances hashtags make a lot of sense locally; but my 'trending' list here instance and my hashtag search only include what my instance sees. Boosts are what gets content around the fediverse.

New fediverse admins: please make sure you have some contact details (just a username is enough) for admin somewhere on your home or about page -, if your admin details are hidden from public unauthenticated users and you have no TOS them be red flags for blocking your instance.
