@duponin ipv4 is more convenient when you need to type addresses frequently, but honestly the majority of the time you don't really need to type IPs and we shouldn't hold back for it being sightly easier to type, it really is just due time that we just make the switch already (at this rate we'll get ipv7 before ipv4 is phased out)even for local network stuff where you're likely to use IP addresses it wouldn't exactly be that hard to make it so you don't (zeroconf .local already exists if only it was supported by default on all platforms android, and it wouldn't be hard for routers to provide arbitrary .lan domains for computers on the network, either of which would negate needing to type IPs for lan stuff in most cases)

@puniko yeah, many farmed foods as we know them are quite literally human creations developed over time and look very different from their wild counterparts (try finding a wild banana) we've been generically engineering our food via means like selective breeding long before we understood what genes wereand frankly if one's concerned about food, GMO is the least of your worries when it comes to the Western food industry, American food brands are so awful in so many more ways

@enigmatico @Jain honesty I'd probably lean more towards godot rather than unreal for itgodots editor is lightweight easy to setup and it's UI isn't that hard to learn, so it'd probably make a decent base for implementing an SDK, and godot is foss with no strings attached so it can easily be changed and modified as neededgodot definitely isn't nearly as capable as unreal in 3d, but considering how spaces like vrchat are i don't think that's a big deal if it doesn't have the newest graphics tech, people will still figure out how to make it pretty, now unreal is probably better optimised and will probably handle badly optimised avatars better but those are gonna cause lag regardlessidk i know I'm rambling a lot but imo for something like this having the SDK be as simple to setup as possible is something i'd wanna prioritize, and i think godot is a good candidate for being easily accessible (and apparently godot already has primatives for VR, so it wouldn't take that much work to put VR into it)

@GNUxeava honesty I think these photos of Jupiter really put the power of the JWST into perspective, putting out a quality from near earth only matched by satellites in orbit of Jupiter

@humanetech @gme @cope afaik mastodon supports viewing edits but not creating edits (i think i heard somewhere they're holding off until edits are more widely supported first, but don't quote me on that I've not bothered to confirm it)akkoma and i think pleroma develop support both viewing and creating editsand misskey (or at least foundkey) supports neither currentlyi don't know what the support state is in others like friendica, gnu social, epicyon, pixelfed, or gotosocial

@RL_Dane @yonle basically, pleroma, is howmastodon limits polls to only 4 options (iirc) but some other fedi servers like pleroma/akkoma or gotosocial don't care as much and will let you add more than 4 optionsgotosocial and pleroma/akkoma let the admin configure the limit, for misskey i haven't checked what the limit is, glitch-soc might also increase the limit but i haven't checked it either (kinda ironic i don't know when misskey and glitch-soc are the ones I actually use lol, idk i just never use polls)and though it limits posts created locally mastodon doesn't enforce most of its limits on remote messages, so they'll still display fine even if they're impossible for you to create
