@mint had one of those that blew in storm. usually pretty solid unless many volts of power cause it to dance. only issue you `may` run into is internal unbound, and possibly vlan interfaces, but you know more than enough to work around it. last time i had that big of a gap, i backed up entire network config, installed the latest version and imported. felt good being on a clean slate.the bigger switch should help. i've got spaghetti string of of small 4/8 port switches that looks like something you'd see on gorelab.

@mischievoustomato when running linux i'm on arch as well. nix, alpine, etc just didn't fit my requirements. some people are scared of arch, i'm not sure why. i'd be more afraid of nix for someone newer to systems.

@mischievoustomato it's bricked 3x for me. 1x was gpg keys being revoked and breaking aur and i wasn't sure at the time how to fix. the other two times i broke it and recovered.

@mischievoustomato i think as long as you don't do anything you can't back out it's fine. maybe just have backups of dots+data and then it's trivial to restore.
